Oakland's Map to Permitted Legal Cannabis Locations
The City of Oakland late yesterday made public a map that allows users to assess whether locations in Oakland are compliant with the location restrictions under Oakland's new medical cannabis rules. The map, announced on the City's web site, allows users to see which locations are within 600 feet of schools, and which locations are in the appropriate zoning areas for dispensary licenses, delivery-only dispensary licenses, and each type of manufacturing licenses (with and without volatile solvents). It also allows users to input specific property addresses and examine the zoning and proximity to schools.
The City has posted disclaimer that the map is for "reference only and not an official approval to conduct medical cannabis activity at a given location," but from what we can tell so far, the map is the best resource available, and an example of Oakland's foreward-thinking approach to cannabis licensing.
